Once a week, clean the pod more thoroughly. Soak it for a few minutes in hot water mixed with a bit of white vinegar. This soaking dissolves oily residues from the coffee that accumulate on the walls and the perforations of the lid.
- Check that the micro-holes in the lid are not clogged: a toothpick is sufficient to clear an orifice blocked by dried grounds.
- Inspect the silicone seal (if your model has one): a damaged seal causes leaks and a loss of pressure during extraction.
- Air dry the pod rather than using a cloth, to avoid textile fiber deposits in the perforations.
Filtered water reduces limescale deposits inside the pod and in the machine. If your tap water is very hard, a simple filtering pitcher limits scaling and extends the lifespan of the equipment.
